UNIT 5 ÔÇô THIRD-PLACE VOWELS

 

Recap on 1st place vowels

Characteristics

1.      The outlines are written with the first upstroke or first down stroke above the line.

2.      The vowel is place at the beginning of the stroke

3.      There are four first-place vowels i.e.

.     Pa        (dark dot at the beginning of a stroke)

-     All       (dark dash at the beginning of a stroke)

.     That     (dark dot at the beginning of a stroke)

-          Not      (dark dash at the beginning of a stroke)

 

Recap on 2nd place vowels

Characteristics

1.      The outlines are written with the first upstroke or first down stroke on the line.

2.      The vowel is place at the middle of the stroke

3.      There are four second-place vowels.

.     May     (dark dot at the middle of a stroke)

-     Go       (dark dash at the middle of a stroke)

.     Pen      (dark dot at the middle of a stroke)

-          Much    (dark dash at the middle of a stroke)

 

 

THIRD-PLACE VOWELS

Characteristics

Like the 1st and 2nd place vowels, there are four vowels:

1.      The outlines are written with the first upstroke or first down stroke through the line.

2.      The vowel is place at the end of the stroke

3.      When a vowel is between two stroke, it is put in the third place before the second place

4.      When the first vowel is a third-place vowel and the outline consists only of horizontal the strokes, the outline is written on the line.

-     too       (dark dash at the end of a stroke)

.     is          (dark dot at the end of a stroke)

-          good     (dark dash at the end of a stroke)

 

Exercise

A.          Drill the outlines given in Unit 5

B.           Consider keenly the short forms, phrases and intersection

C.           Do the exercises given in every unit and check the answers from the key given

D.          Make sure you have drilled the outlines thoroughly until you master them
